Foaming agents are a class of substances that make plastics in a viscous flow state form a honeycomb pore structure. It can be solid, liquid, gas or a mixture of several substances. The earliest use of foaming agents was in the early days of the rubber industry. Foaming agent usually produced by sodium carbonate and other volatile liquids.
Although early foaming agents were toxic and polluting, they were paid attention to because of their advantages such as ease of use. With the advancement of science and technology, pollution-free and high-efficiency foaming agents have begun to attract people's attention.
Now, with the improvement of living standards, people hope to use more environmentally friendly foaming agents. Therefore, the development of environmentally friendly foaming agents has become the mainstream of society. When external conditions change, such as temperature increase, pressure reduction, etc. The
foaming agent generates gas through physical or chemical changes, fills the polymer melt with gas, and finally forms a foam. According to different foaming principles, it is divided into physical foaming agents and chemical foaming agents.
AC is a widely used foam blowing agent for several reasons.
AC is one of the most efficient blowing agents in terms of gas production. It releases gas that is highly efficient in creating foam and releases it quickly and without loss of control. AC and its solid products are both low toxic substances. AC is also one of the cheapest chemical blowing agents. It is very cheap not only in terms of gas production efficiency per gram, but also in terms of gas production per dollar.
AC foaming agent belongs to chemical foaming agent. Chemical foaming agents are to add organic matter that is easy to decompose to polymer materials, and then extrude the materials at a temperature slightly higher than the decomposition temperature of the foaming agent.
In this process, the foaming agent undergoes a decomposition reaction to produce gas (AC foaming agent produces N2) to foam the polymer material. The
foaming agent is mixed with the polymer before the material is extruded, and a chemical reaction occurs in an extrusion environment higher than the decomposition temperature.
Byproducts relative to the material are generated. These byproducts form crystal nuclei in the material, triggering the generation of bubbles in the polymer melt.
Exothermic foaming
AC foaming agent is an exothermic foaming agent. Therefore, its mechanism can be explained based on the hot spot theory. It can be considered that the heat released by the decomposition of AC foaming agent heats the polymer melt locally and becomes a hot spot. At the hot spot, the melt viscosity decreases and the tension decreases, making it easier for the gas to expand and form bubbles.
Foaming agent AC is a foaming agent with the largest gas emission, the best performance and the widest application. Synthetic materials such as ABS, polystyrene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyamide and various rubbers usually used in making foaming agent.
It is widely used in the foaming of slippers, soles, insoles, plastic wallpapers, ceilings, floor coverings, artificial leather, thermal insulation, sound insulation materials, etc.
Foaming agent AC has the characteristics of stable performance, non-flammable, non-polluting, non-toxic and tasteless, no corrosion to molds and no staining to products, adjustable decomposition temperature, no influence on curing and molding speed, etc. This product can be foamed at normal pressure or pressurized, and can foam evenly and continuously with ideal pore structure.
Uses:
Foaming agent AC is widely used in the foaming process of polymers. It is also suitable for the foaming of plastics such as polyethylene, polystyrene, and ABS resin. This foaming agent can be used to obtain a uniform and delicate pore structure. The product has the superior properties of comfortable hand feel, good resilience, and strong leather feel. It can be used to make tool handles, furniture, auto parts, closed-cell leather, flooring, seals, and soles.
Storage:
Foaming agent AC has good stability, is non-combustible and self-extinguishing. It should be placed in a dry and ventilated place, away from heat sources and open flames.
Instructions:
The processing site should be well ventilated to avoid inhalation of dust and prolonged contact with the skin.
Summary
AC foaming agent has large gas generation capacity, excellent performance and wide range of uses. Stable performance, non-flammable, non-polluting, non-toxic, tasteless, no corrosion of the mold, no staining of the products, the decomposition temperature can be adjusted, does not affect the speed of curing and molding. The decomposition temperature is adjustable without affecting the curing and molding speed. The decomposition temperature can be adjusted by adding appropriate amount of activator.
